Zell am See in the summer

In summer the Zell am See-Kaprun region is a real delight for sports fans: for here the summer sports holiday programme amid stunning scenery is packed with action, fun and pleasure.

LENGTH: 270 km (Tauern Cycle Trail Loop) or 310 km (Krimml – Passau)

ELEVATION CHANGE between the highest point (Krimml Waterfalls) and the lowest point (Passau or Salzburg): 600 m (Tauern Cycle Trail Loop) or 750 m (Krimml – Passau)

ROUTE: mostly a gentle downhill (only a few climbs along the way). Riders are recommended to tackle the loop in a counter-clockwise direction. Around 70% of the route is paved. 90% is along cycle paths or quiet side roads.

Suitable for touring and trekking bikes. With mountain bikes additional alpine excursions are also possible. The variant through the Saalachtal valley is particularly family-friendly.
